Limited to just 20 pieces, the +8 is distinguished by its 18-carat yellow gold case and integrated bracelet, complemented by a striking green dial and sub-dials. The distinctive numeral 8 at 8 o’clock is a subtle reference to Perth and its GMT +8 time zone, giving this limited edition a uniquely Australian identity.
At the heart of the watch is Audemars Piguet’s ultra-thin self-winding Calibre 5134. Measuring just 4.5 mm thick, the movement comprises 374 components and 38 jewels, operating at 19,800 vibrations per hour with approximately 40 hours of power reserve.
The perpetual calendar displays the day, date, month, week, astronomical moon phase and leap-year indication, automatically accounting for the different lengths of the months and leap years. Through the sapphire caseback, the beautifully finished movement can be admired, reflecting the technical expertise and attention to detail for which Audemars Piguet is renowned.
The combination of the Royal Oak’s instantly recognisable octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet with warm 18-carat yellow gold and the distinctive green colour palette gives the +8 a character all its own.
